In conjunction with participation in the UN-organized Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction 2025 (GP2025), Director Nakano, Deputy Director Tabata, Visiting Researcher Asai (Institute of Industrial Science, The University of Tokyo), and Kawamata visited the laboratory of Professor Lignos at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne), with whom we have been exploring international research collaboration. Both of us introduced our ongoing research projects and exchanged ideas, followed by a tour of the structural engineering laboratory at EPFL. Through further exchanges, we agreed to explore common research topics and aim to establish a research collaboration framework to maximize outcomes.
